The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the arrest of a 35-year-old man following a car theft last week.

According to a recent press release, after a black Chevy Silverado was reported stolen in Port Huron Township earlier in the day on Wednesday, May 13, deputies later located the truck driving on Dove Road at 6:30 pm.

When they attempted to stop the truck, the driver fled. He did so by pulling into a driveway on 36th Street, fleeing the vehicle and leading the deputies on a foot chase through a dense wooded area.

With the assistance of Port Huron Police Department’s UAV drone, 35-year-old David Cutrubes was taken into custody. He was arraigned Friday, May 15, in 72nd District Court on four felony charges, including two counts of resisting and obstructing police, fleeing in the third degree, and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle. His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.
