While it is unclear if the work is related to the ongoing Blue Water Bridge plaza expansion, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be closing westbound I-94/I-69 connector tomorrow for further work.
I-94/I-69 will be closed from Pine Grove Avenue to Hancock Street in Port Huron at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, for shoulder paving work. The closure is slated to last for one business day, with MDOT predicting in a recent press release that work would finish up by 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.
During the work, traffic will be detoured via M-25 (Pine Grove) and Hancock Street to I-94/I-69, with roadway closure necessary for both worker and motorist safety.
