Updated Covid-19 numbers in the thumb

An updated report on the Coronavirus in the five-county region in the Thumb is beginning to show a new trend of flattening the curve, both in the number of COVID-19 cases and the number of deaths. As of Sunday afternoon, Huron County has ten confirmed cases, and is still the lowest in the region. Tuscola County has increased to 59 cases but had three more deaths, giving them eleven total. The majority of the deaths in Tuscola County have come at the County Medical Care facility. There was a slight spike in Sanilac who is reporting an increase up to 33 cases and three deaths. Lapeer County continues it’s trend of rapidly growing numbers of cases which now stands at 141 with 18 deaths. St. Clair County is reporting over 270 cases and reported another death, giving them ten deaths total. As of Sunday afternoon, the State of Michigan is reporting more than 30,000 cases of COVID-19 with more than 2,300 deaths. Of the more than 30,000 cases statewide, over 27,000 are in the Metro-Detroit area, including Genesee county.
