Groups raise money for Yale food pantry

Two Yale area efforts to raise money have been highly successful and the Yale Food Bank is the benefactor of both events. A local family in Yale opened up their driveway as hundreds of pots of pansies and other assorted flowers were lined up for sale last Sunday. Property owner Michael Morris said they wanted to do something to help the Food Bank during the COVID-19 pandemic and the flowers were a big hit. Morris reported more than $1,000 was raised for the Yale Food bank. Likewise, a craft project turned into a fundraiser as a Yale area family crafted colorful gnomes that people have adopted, raising $2,000 for the local charity. Food Bank officials say during the Coronavirus pandemic, they have seen an increase of need in the community. They are thankful for the support shown by everyone in helping raise money that will in turn allow them to purchase truckloads of food for residents of the greater Yale area.
