Sanilac County officials give update on COVID-19

Sanilac County officials remain guardedly optimistic in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, despite the number of cases confirmed positive in the county jumping from 23 to 32 in one week. There are now three deaths as a result of COVID-19 in Sanilc County. Of those who have tested positive, patients are both self-quarantined and in hospitals in other out-of-county locations, according to officials. During the half hour teleconference with local media Monday afternoon, health department officials said the newest death in the county was a female from the Croswell area, between the age of 70 and 79. Test results throughout the county continue to take at least 48 hours or more for answers and according to health department officials, they do not have access to the quick test method that has results much quicker.
