Nominations Sought for Sanilac County Silver Lining Awards

The Sanilac County Community Foundation is seeking nominations for the 26th annual Silver Lining Awards. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 20th at 6 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Banquet Hall in Marlette. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

The Silver Lining awards are designed to recognize adults and young people whose volunteer efforts have greatly improved the quality of life for the people of Sanilac County. Nominations are sought from all communities throughout Sanilac County from agencies, businesses, and individuals.

Both individuals and groups may be nominated for recognition of their volunteer activities. Awards are given in the following categories: youth individuals, youth groups, adult individual/family, adult groups, and businesses. New to this year’s nomination form is Small Town Pride award categories as follows: business, outstanding citizen, and outstanding educator.

All honorees will receive a Silver Lining Certificate. One awardee from each category will be selected to receive a 2018 Silver Lining Crystal Award.

The Romney Award is given to honorees that have been nominated five separate years and the Stan Fetting Heart of Gold Award is given to honorees that have been nominated ten separate years.
