The St. Clair County Drug Task Force had a busy night Thursday, raiding four drug houses with the assistance of other agencies and seizing nearly $15,000 worth of drugs.
Concluding an investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Port Huron area, Thursday’s events began with a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle in the area of 13th Street and Pine Street in the city of Port Huron. The stop was made by a Port Huron Police Unit and Sheriff’s K-9 Unit shortly after 6:00 p.m.
Immediately after the stop, simultaneous raids were made on two homes in Port Huron. Armed with search warrants, members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team entered a home in the 1200 block of 12th Street, while Port Huron Police SRT entered a home in the 600 block of Taylor Street.
Once those homes were secured, search warrants were executed on two more houses. Members of the DTF, Port Huron Neighborhood Enforcement Team and Homeland Security Investigations made entry into homes in the 1900 block of 25th Street and 2400 block of 24th Street, both in Port Huron Township.
During the search of the homes, a total of $12,620 worth of oxycodone pills were seized, along with $1200 worth of heroin, $1000 worth of crack cocaine, cash, a vehicle, scales, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and cell phones.
Two Detroit men, ages 30 and 29, were arrested, along with a 45 year old man and 35 year old woman from Port Huron. The four are currently lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, where they are expected to face charges including possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver analogue pills and maintaining a drug house.
In addition, the men from Detroit face charges of being habitual 4th offenders.
