The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced that two men have been arrested for several larcenies from vehicles in Fort Gratiot Township.
Following several reported thefts in the Old Farms subdivision at the end of April, St. Clair County deputies have been on the lookout for the offenders, and located the suspects’ vehicle just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time and parked on Capital Avenue and State Road. Two individuals matching suspect descriptions were found walking in the area soon after.
After initially refusing to stop, 19-year-old Armani Greathouse of Detroit and 20-year-old Jaydon Comstock of Port Huron were detained. When the men were searched, police found a ski mask, cash, a Bridge Card that didn’t belong to either of them, and prescription pills that were not prescribed to either suspect. Port Huron Major Crimes Units confirmed the two were their suspects from the original calls, with the two suspects transported to St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
Both were arraigned in the 72nd District Court, with both having their bond set at $75,000 cash/surety each. Greathouse was charged with seven misdemeanor counts of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property less than $200, and five felonies, including breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property over $1000, unlawful driving away of an automobile, two counts of stealing or retaining without consent of a financial transaction device, and resisting and obstructing.
Comstock was also charged with the same seven misdemeanor counts as Greathouse, but was also charged with six felonies, including breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property over $1000, unlawful driving away of an automobile, two counts of stealing or retaining without consent of a financial transaction device, possession of analogues, and resisting and obstructing.
Both will appear in court again on Tuesday, May 19, for their probable cause conference.
