St. Clair County DTF wraps up two investigations Wednesday with arrests, drugs seized

Antonio Billy

Two drug investigations came to an end Wednesday night, with the St. Clair County Drug Task Force being called from one scene to the other in quick succession.

The investigations took place on March 27, with the St. Clair County Drug Task Force first executing a search warrant on the 2600 block of Kraft Road in Port Huron. The home in question had been the target of an ongoing investigation into multiple narcotics.

The 38-year-old homeowner, Antonio Billy, was stopped by officers after he was seen leaving the home. Officers searched his person, and realized that he was holding something in his mouth. Though it took several commands by officers, Billy did finally spit out a small baggie containing crack cocaine with fentanyl mixed in.

As he was transported to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center, officers searched his home and found a dealer’s quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as scales and packaging material. Billy was arraigned on the charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl/Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, and Destruction of Evidence Friday, March 29. Bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.

While officers searched the home Wednesday night, a St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputy made what he believed would be a simple traffic stop on I-69. Due to the number of occupants in the vehicle, the deputy requested assistance and was joined at the scene by a Border Patrol agent.

Bobby Villarreal

As it happened, the Border Patrol agent was a K-9 handler, with the dog getting the chance to perform a sniff around the vehicle. The dog alerted on a particular area, and following a search of the vehicle, 26 grams of methamphetamine were found.

With all of the vehicle’s occupants detained, the case was turned over to the Drug Task Force. As a result of the search, Bobby Villarreal, 42 years old of Port Huron was arrested and arraigned on the charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Obstructing Police after providing a false name to officers. Bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.
