No bombs were found at Memphis Junior/Senior High School yesterday, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

The St. Clair County Central Dispatch was called by the National Suicide Hotline just after noon on Tuesday, February 13. From the call, the county dispatch was informed that an individual was texting the helpline, claiming to have placed multiple pressure cooker bombs in various men’s bathrooms around the high school.

This information prompted an evacuation of the high school, with students and staff taken to the nearby elementary school. Though explosive detection K9s were deployed at both the Junior/Senior High School and the Elementary School, no threats were found.

Students and staff returned to the school building shortly thereafter, with an investigation into the matter still ongoing.
