Four Port Huron businesses, including the popular Freighters Eatery and Taproom, were cited Tuesday for selling alcohol to minors.

Port Huron Police conducted a compliance check of 17 businesses on December 5, focusing on sales of alcohol to underage customers. During the operation, police sent underage decoys to area restaurants and bars licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, with 13 of the 17 found in compliance after refusing to sell alcohol to the decoys.

The following four establishments were not in compliance and were cited for selling alcohol to a minor:

  • The Raven, 932 Military St., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Port Huron Lanes, 1718 Hancock St., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Freighters, 800 Harker St., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Wings Etc., 330 Quay St., Port Huron, MI 48060

The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all of the establishments that were found to be in compliance and encourage all licensed establishments to check IDs to prevent the use of alcohol by underage minors.
