Though their elementary school principal Matthew Connelly has been tapped for the job for next school year, the topic of an interim superintendent is on the agenda for the Deckerville Community School District at next Monday’s meeting.

With the superintendent search having drawn to a close just last Monday, May 8, and with Connelly’s potential contract projected to start on July 1 of this year, a day after current superintendent Michael Hugan’s contract finishes, the incoming superintendent has less than two months to learn all the ropes of his new role.

Also on the school board’s agenda is the administrator contracts, as well as Chartwells’ contract renewal. In addition, the board is slated to discuss major projects for the district, such as technology purchases, carpet and tile replacement, plumbing fixture replacement, and bond projects.

The agenda was updated on Friday, May 19 to also show the board plans to go into closed session to discussion personnel issues.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. next Monday, May 22, at the Deckerville High School library.
