Local Troopers graduate from Academy

 

 

 

 

 

Michigan communities will soon benefit from the addition of 50 state troopers who graduated recently from the 140th Trooper Recruit School.

During the ceremony in Lansing, Michigan’s Governor was the keynote speaker, Col. Joe Gasper, director of the Michigan State Police (MSP), administered the Oath of Office to 50 individuals who begin their assignments at MSP posts across the state this week.

The 140th Trooper Recruit School began on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, with 74 prospective troopers, at the MSP Training Academy in Lansing.

Recruits received training in several areas including patrol techniques, ethics, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing and firearms.

Tpr. Blaine Borman was elected Class Orator by his fellow recruits and spoke on behalf of the graduating class at their recent ceremony.

Locally Dennis Bills III was assigned to the Caro post while Nicholas Densmore, Zachary Lambert and Kyle Schamweber will be in Lapeer.

Bills is from Lapeer while Densmore hails from Davison. Schamweber is from East China and Lamert is from Manistique.
