A Sandusky man was seriously injured when his snowmobile collided with a pickup truck over the weekend.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, Central Dispatch received a call about the accident around 9 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies responded to M-46, near Townline Road in Moore Township along with Sanilac EMS and the Sandusky fire department.

Investigators say a 2013 Polaris Snowmobile operated by a 35-year-old Sandusky man reported the throttle on his machine got stuck, causing him to lose control of the snowmobile.

The snowmobile entered the roadway into the path of a westbound 2003 Sierra pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old Sandusky man who was unable to avoid colliding with the snowmobile.

The 35-year-old man sustained serious and was transported to McKenzie Health System for treatment.

He was later transferred to Hurley Medical Center of Flint.
