Two Flint men arrested in connection with theft

(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – Two Flint area men were arrested following an incident early Monday morning in Tuscola County’s Indianfields Township.

According to the Tuscola County Sheriff Department, a township homeowner heard his truck being started and drove away from his driveway around 4 a.m.

A Caro police officer spotted the vehicle west of town and pursued the vehicle to a local business where the driver of the stolen vehicle bailed out and fled on foot while the truck was still moving.

The truck eventually stopped, after striking a business. Police, with the help of a K-9 unit, found the alleged suspect about a mile from the scene, lying on the ground in a swampy area.

A short time later, a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the area of the original vehicle theft and after stopping the vehicle, police arrested a second man.

Investigators believe the two men were together and allegedly involved in the crime.

Both men have been lodged in jail and are awaiting charges to be filed. The case remains under investigation.
