County Fair plans still being finalized; await final decision

The coronavirus continues to alter the way residents of Michigan live, as the summer months, and the urge to be outside grows.

Officials with the Michigan State University 4-H program have cancelled educational activities for the summer, including camps and seminars.

However, that does not mean the end of county fairs, yet. Plans continue to be made for fair activities and youth continue to hone their skills with their livestock in hopes of being able to experience Fair Week.

Officials in Sanilac and St. Clair counties are still moving forward with plans of having a fair and still have Amusement companies under contract to bring rides, concessions and game booths.

It is hoped restrictions will be lifted enough in the coming weeks to allow the fairs to take place, as planned, although some earlier scheduled events may be altered depending on the COVID-19 outbreak.
