Sanilac County has suffered their first death due to the coronavirus. A male patient at McLaren Port Huron Hospital died Monday evening after a seven day battle with the deadly virus. The man, believed to be in his 60s and a Worth Township resident, had been in Intensive Care for the duration of his stay in the hospital and according to family members, had shown signs of improvement late last week before succumbing to the virus. He was the County’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus and also the County’s first fatality.
