Sanilac to test storm sirens

Spring is not far away, as well as severe weather, and in response to the upcoming weather season, Sanilac County will be testing emergency warning sirens later this month.

On Monday, March 30, county sirens will be activated at 5 p.m., testing the Emergency Warning System of Sanilac County.

Emergency Management Director Todd Hillman said the days leading up to the test is a good time for families, businesses and schools to review emergency plans.

During the test, all warning sirens in the County will be activated by the local Fire Departments in the WARNING MODE.

At approximately 5:10 pm the ALL CLEAR will be activated.

Hillman said all residents should be prepared and have the needed materials and supplies to sustain themselves for 72 hours.
