Accused pedophile in Fort Gratiot faces life in prison

Prosecutors in St. Clair County say a 60-year old Fort Gratiot Township man allegedly took photographs of himself performing sex acts on numerous victims over a seven year span. Mark Olson was bound over to St. Clair County Circuit Court Thursday, following new information during the court session, resulting in him being charged with 24 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material. Olson was originally charged in December on five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, before prosecutors presented an amended warrant listing 20 additional charges of criminal sexual conduct after additional victims were identified, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff Department. The crimes allegedly occurred between 2001 and 2008 in Fort Gratiot Township and Port Huron. If convicted, he is facing life in prison.
