Port Huron police searching for suspect in high-speed chase

A wrong way driver caught the attention of Port Huron police earlier last week. The suspect fled police in the vehicle and later crashed into a privacy fence around 3:30 a.m. last Monday morning. Police had spotted the Dodge Charger going the wrong way on Union Street, near the intersection of 21st Street and attempted to stop the vehicle. Officers say the Charger fled at a high rate of speed, losing the officers. The vehicle was spotted a short time later in the area of Francis and 17th Street where it had crashed into the fence. Police believe the suspect fled on foot, finding no one inside the vehicle. Police searched the area and did not find anyone and are asking the public if anyone has information to contact them.
