DEQ to Hear Residents Concerns

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality plans to hold a public hearing in Lapeer Township in June to receive feedback from rsidents about a proposed expansion of a mining business. An existing mining business has applied to expand their business by nearly 10 acres to allow for additional mining. According to the DEQ, each resident who wishes to speak will be recorded and have ten minutes to voice their concerns. The meeting is scheduled for June 20th at 6 p.m. at the Lapeer Township Hall.
