One person was taken to a Port Huron hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation, following a house fire Wednesday morning. Port Huron Fire Department officials said crews were called to the home on Pine Street around 9 a.m. At least three people and six pets escaped the blaze and authorities said an elderly man was taken to the hospital. Cause of the fire is under investigation and the extent of the damage is not yet known.
