Voters wishing to take part in the upcoming May elections throughout the area have until Monday to register to vote, according to Secretary of State Ruth Johnson. Of Michigan’s 83 counties, 66 will be holding elections. Voters who qualify may choose to cast an absentee ballot for a variety of reasons including if you are age 60 or older or physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance. Absentee voters are encouraged to return ballots by May 1. You can register at your local Secretary of State office or at local county, city or township offices.
