Tuscola County Sheriff Glen Skrent recently announced the hiring of Thomas Peterson as a road patrol deputy. Peterson will fill the second of five road patrol positions from funding from the 1.33 mills county voters approved last year allowing the department to add more road officers and a canine unit. Peterson graduated with honors from Caro High School and is a graduate of Ferris State University. Upon completion of a 12-week Field Training Officer program, peterson will become a road patrol deputy.
