Scammers continue to work in the Thumb region, with another scam being reported in Tuscola County last week. Deputies said a Caro resident had a laptop delivered to their house by FedEx.
The resident didn’t know who order it. The next day, someone came to their door saying they were from FedEx and left a note that said the delivery was a mistake and they wanted the laptop back.
The resident contacted the store where the laptop was bought and they found out that someone stole their credit card information and home address. The suspects had the laptop sent to that address so it could be picked up as they pretended to be from FedEx.
If anyone notices this happening, they are encouraged to call 911.
