Police investigate robbery

 

(THURSDAY 8/3/17 UPDATE 4 P.M.)A man charged with robbing the Sandusky Party Store and strangling a female clerk Tuesday evening was arraigned Wednesday and is facing multiple charges. Bryan Pudelko, 58, of Sandusky is accused of unarmed robbery and assault by strangulation, said Sandusky Police Chief Brett Lester. Bond was set at $1 million and he is facing up to 30 years in prison if convicted. Pudelko previously served a 25-year sentence for killing his roommate in a cocaine-fueled rage and was released from prison two years ago and discharged from parole four months ago. Pudelko was sentenced Jan. 8, 1990, to 27 to 50 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder and felony firearms in the slaying of Randy Chambers in 1989. He was found guilty by a jury in November 1989.

 

(Sandusky) – A clerk at the Sandusky Party Store escaped injury after allegedly being attacked by a 58-year-old Sandusky man Tuesday evening. The man is expected to be arraigned today after allegedly robbing the party store and attacking the employee. Sandusky Police Chief Brett Lester said the robbery was reported about 7:30 p.m. when the clerk gave officers a description of the suspect and a possible name.

Officers searched the area and found the suspect several blocks away from the store and arrested the man, recovering stolen items.

Chief Lester said the incident was captured on surveillance video, showing the suspect going behind the counter to assault the clerk by strangulation and fleeing from the store with several items.

Sandusky officers were assisted by the Sanilac County Sheriff Department and Michigan State Police.
