Man beaten in Yale attack

(Yale) – Police are seeking four suspects after two fights during last weekend’s Yale Bologna Festival. Police Chief Brian Mahaffy said an Avoca man in his 20s was involved in a fight with two suspects in the Yale Hotel sometime after midnight Saturday. Police responded and escorted the man out of the business.

A few hours later, the victim went to the Marathon gas station in Yale where he was approached by four men in their 20s who proceeded to severely beat the man.

Chief Mahaffy said the entire incident was caught on surveillance tape at the station and police are reviewing the tape as part of the investigation.

Four suspects from Yale, Brown City, Avoca and Emmett are being sought by police and facing charges of felonious assault. Chief Mahaffy said officers are aware of their whereabouts and intend to make arrests this week.

The victim sustained severe head and facial injuries and was taken to a Port Huron hospital for treatment of injuries.
