Sandusky police log a busy month of May

The Sandusky police department had a busy month of May, handling 318 incidents and making 11 arrests.

For the year, the department has responded to more than 1,400 calls for assistance and arrested 77 people.

According to a report from Chief Bret Lester, officers made 89 traffic stops and issued 73 traffic warnings, the most so far this year.

Due to the time of season, Chief Lester noted his department has extremely been busy handling blight issues, responding to 76 complaints last month.
