Kohler tapped to lead Brown City schools

The Brown City school board met in special session Thursday evening to interview the only candidate to apply for the vacant Superintendent’s position.

Former Superintendent Douglas Muxlow resigned his position last month, after being placed on administrative leave for possible school policy violations.

The board hired high school principal Neil Kohler as their next Superintendent. No contract details were available.

Kohler, a 1997 Brown City graduate, will take over the top position this month, ending the short stint of Jerry Steigerwald who filled in as interim Superintendent for a few weeks.

Steigerwald, now retired, was the district’s Superintendent prior to Muxlow.
