Road projects ready to kick off in Sanilac County

(Sanilac County) – With the onset of nicer weather, the annual pilgrimage of orange barrels will dot the landscape throughout Sanilac County as work gets underway on 13 different road projects this summer. Among the bigger projects is a repaving of Old 51 from Carsonville to Croswell, with the exception of the Village of Applegate. That work is slated for later this year. In all, county taxpayers will see over $2 million dollars of their millage money at work on primary roads. Below is a partial list of the work scheduled for the county:

1 – Juhl – Frenchline Road to M-46 (4.05 miles) at a cost of $ 462,126.00
2 – Applegate – from Ruth Road to thte west village limits  of Applegate (4.07 miles) at a cost of $ 303,894.00
3 – Galbraith Line from M-19 to Todd Road (5.97 miles) at a cost of $ 475,577.00
4 – Ruth Road from Frenchline Road to M46 (4.04 miles) at a cost of $ 305,930.00
5 – Minden from Palms Road to the south village limits of Minden City (3.50 miles) at a cost of $ 266,443.50
6 – Palms/Hunt Roads from Minden Road to Snay Road (4.46 miles) at a cost of $ 333,012.00
7 – Aitken Road from M19 to Pritchett Road (0.50 miles) at a cost of $ 44,797.50  For a total of $2,191,780.00 funded by Countywide road millage monies.

Also planned are:

8 – Decker Road from Deckerville Road to Shabbona Road (1.0 miles) at a cost of $99,643.00
9 – Mushroom Road from M53 to Lamton Road (1.0 miles) at a cost of $ 72,539.00
10 – Townline Road from M46 to Miller Road (1.03 miles) at a cost of  $ 85,312.00
11 – M-19 from Galbraith Line Road to Fisher Road (2.00 miles) at a cost of $ 226,639.50
12 – M-19 from M46 to approximately ½ mile south of Snover Rd. (2.5 mi) at a cost of $ 238,635.00
13 – M-19 from Huron Line Road to Soule Road (2.5 miles) at a cost of $ 247,635.00
