Yale has new Police Chief

The City of Yale has a new police Chief. At their meeting Monday night, city council voted to approve Mayor Richard Bush’s recommendation to name Brain Mahaffy as

the new Chief. Mahaffy was already with the department as an officer and has taken over the duties as Chief as of Tuesday morning. He replaces Michael Redman who had served Yale in the same capacity for the past ten years.

Bush had suspended Redman for five days last August for not wearing a safety vest. The action was later rescinded.

Bush did not re-appoint Redman at the start of the year, leaving the former chief working day-to-day, until a replacement was named.
