Major road repairs scheduled for this work season

Road work throughout Sanilac County is slated to get underway once weather conditions allow. The Road Commission board heard an update at their Wednesday morning meeting from staff, noting the first project scheduled is an eight mile stretch of Deckerville Road. The project is estimated to cost $1.5 million dollars.

Another large project, which will be done later this summer or early fall, is an asphalt overlay of Old 51 from south of Carsonville to just north of Croswell.

That project is estimated to cost $1.2 million dollars. Both jobs are being paid by Federal funds with a 20% match from the county.
