Brown City to update Master Plan

Brown City, like many communities across the Thumb Region, are beginning work on updating outdated Master Plans that when completed, will allow them to apply for infrastructure grants. City Manager Clint Holmes told council Monday evening grants between $500,000 dollars and one million dollars are available, once State requirements are met. The city has identified needed improvements to their water system, to replace old cast iron lines.

Holmes said the city’s Master Plan is 15 years old and the Recreation Plan is 13 years old. Council agreed to move forward with updating the plans.
