Sandusky updating Parks and Recreation plan

An updated parks and Recreation plan is in the planning stages for the Sandusky city council. City Manager Dave Faber told council Monday night they need to have a new plan in place so they can apply for future grants. Faber said the most recent plan is more than 10 years old with the last grant for the Parks and Rec being the Diamond Trails project. The city received over $200,000 in assistance from the state to complete the new trail. In other council news, contract negotiations continue between the city and their three bargaining groups.

Faber said he anticipates the city will have new three-year contracts in place by the end of the month. 13 employees from the police department, public works and office staff are effected with the negotiations. Faber pointed out key issues in settling new contracts are wages and health care.
