Sandusky firemen respond to house fire

Sandusky firemen were called to 45 Jackson St. Tuesday evening around 6 p.m. when the homeowner smelled smoke in the house. Chief Todd Hillman said the homeowners reported smelling smoke in the house. Firefighters found a dryer vent had become plugged and was burning underneath the house in a crawl space. They removed the flexible dryer vent from under the home and extinguished the fire.

No damage was reported to the home and no one was injured. Traffic was detoured around Jackson Street during the incident.
