(CUSTER TOWNSHIP) — A 72-year old Deckerville man and his 4-year old grandson were treated for injuries after the camper they were in started on fire. The Deckerville Fire Department was sent to the 2600 block of N. Rangeline Road in Custer Township around 10 a.m. Wednesday for a camper trailer and pole barn on fire. Sanilac County Deputy Sheriff Fire Investigator Rob Wendling says the man was attempting to ignite the gas burners to the stove in the camper when it became immediately engulfed. The man and his grandson were taken to Deckerville Hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
