Woman freed from car in Tuscola County crash

(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at the corner of M-81 and Vassar Road.An investigation showed that a 2000 Porsche Boxster, driven by a 67-year old Fenton man, had been traveling south on Vassar Road when he initially stopped at the stop sign, but pulled into the path of a Chevy Equinox, which was traveling east on M-81. The driver of the Equinox was a 61-year old Caro woman. Deputies say the 62-year old female passenger in the Boxster had to be freed from the vehicle by Vassar Fire’s Jaws of Life. Both the woman and Fenton man were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw by Flight Care. The driver and two passengers in the second vehicle received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.
