(OTTER LAKE) — A 57-year old Lapeer County woman has been charged with murder in the death of a 24-year old man. Lapeer County Sheriff deputies say the incident took place Friday morning at a home on Briggs Road in Otter Lake. The 57-year old woman called 9-1-1 shortly before 10 a.m. to report that she had stabbed another person and herself. Deputies found the two people, that were immediate family members, inside the home with stab wounds. They were taken to McLaren-Lapeer Regional Hospital where the woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries and the 24-year old Otter Lake man was pronounced dead. Deputies say there is no evidence suggesting that the stabbing was the result of an altercation. The woman remains jailed without bond and the case remains under investigation.
