College Football AP Poll: No surprise which team finishes first

UNDATED (AP) – Hours after Alabama won the national championship with its 45-40 win over Clemson, the Crimson Tide were voted No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll. The honor marks the 10th time the school has won the AP’s national championship, which goes back decades before there was a playoff.  The Crimson Tide have now won four national titles in the past seven years with Nick Saban in charge. His other titles at Alabama came in 2009, 2011 and 2012. In the 50th game matching the No. 1 vs. the No. 2 team, Alabama outscored Clemson 24-16 in the fourth quarter to win and earn all 61 first-place votes from the AP panel. The Tigers, who were ranked No. 1 coming into the game, finished second in the poll with Stanford third, Ohio State fourth and Oklahoma fifth.
