A rollover crash in Vassar Township on Saturday, October 8, claimed the life of a 34-year-old man.

It was around 7:14 pm when Michigan State troopers were dispatched to the scene at Waterman and Kirk Roads, where they determined the driver to be Aaron Nathan Ward of Vassar.

Further investigation found that Ward was alone and driving east on Waterman Road in his 2008 Buick Enclave when he lost control, entering the north ditch and striking a utility pole. The vehicle continued into the ditch, rolling over several times. Ward, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear if intoxicants were a factor, with the state police waiting on toxicology and autopsy results for further answers in the ongoing investigation.
