An 18-year old Port Huron woman was killed in a New Year’s Day accident on Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron around 3:30 p.m. According to a statement from the Port Huron Police Department, a 20-year-old man from Port Huron struck a utility pole after losing control of his vehicle on northbound Pine Grove near Thomas Edison Drive. The vehicle rolled over and and the woman was ejected. She died at the scene, according to police. The driver and two back seat passengers, an 18-year-old man and 19-year-old female from Port Huron, were treated at McLaren Port Huron and released. Police say speed is believed to be one of the factors in the crash.
