Yale man wins ‘Master of Arms’ competition

Yale can now proudly boast they have a Master of Arms resident in the city after Michael Morris won a competition on the Discovery Channel show “Master of Arms. Morris, owner of Morris Knives, crafted the winning weapon, a replica of a bizarre 19th century hybrid sword and single-shot pistol. The show featuring Morris aired Friday on the Discovery Channel where viewers got to watch Morris and another craftsman build their versions of the weapon. An expert tested the weapons, firing at a target, slashing a rope and slashing and stabbing a pig carcass. Morris spent eight days in Pennsylvania for the taping of the show and won $10,000 for his efforts.
