Stewardship workday scheduled at Algonac State Park

(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) — Volunteers are needed this month for stewardship workdays at southeastern Michigan state parks, according to the Department of Natural Resources. Workday details, maps, and directions can be found on the DNR website. Volunteers are needed to pull non-native, invasive weeds such as garlic mustard, dame’s rocket, and narrow-leaved bitter-cress that threaten to take over in high-quality woodlands. Work will take place at the Algonac State Park in St. Clair County on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Volunteers register online and bring work gloves, drinking water, and appropriate clothing for outdoor work.
