(SPEAKER TOWNSHIP) — A Melvin man remains hospitalized after crashing his motorcycle early Wednesday morning in an attempt to avoid a deer. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Sgt. Shelly Park says the crash was reported just after 6:30 a.m. The driver of the motorcycle, 43-year old Kevin Boller, was traveling west on Galbraith Line Road east of Arendt Road when he lost control of the bike and slid on the roadway, becoming separated from the bike. Boller was transported to McKenzie Health System by Marlette EMS and later transferred by Flight Care for further treatment. Deputies say Boller was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
