Four area fire departments battled a pole barn fire early Wednesday morning in Sanilac County’s Lexington Township. Firefighters from the Lexington Fire Department responded to a call for assistance from the Croswell Fire Department, arriving in the 4000 block of Wixson Road at 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9th to find a pole barn fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Lexington, Croswell, Applegate and Port Sanilac fire departments battled the blaze until about 5:30 a.m. before fully extinguishing the fire. The pole barn was declared a total loss. The cause of the fire is yet to be revealed as investigation continues.
