The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $3 million to improve more than 14 miles of M-46 from M-24 (Mertz Road) to M-53 (Van Dyke Road) in Tuscola and Sanilac counties.
Work includes cape seal, micro cold milling, joint repairs, shoulder gravel, sidewalk ramps and pavement markings. Work will begin on Monday, July 21, 2025, with the project expected to be complete by Friday, October 3, 2025.
Traffic will be maintained with single-lane closures and flag control.
Based on economic modeling, this overall investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 29 jobs.
