The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a breaking and entering that occurred Friday night at Brown’s Marketplace in Deckerville. Sanilac Central Dispatch received a report of a breaking and entering in progress around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30th. Upon arrival, Sanilac County sheriff deputies, along with officers from the Deckerville Police Department, established a perimeter around the store. The caller reported that they had seen an individual fleeing the scene on foot. Investigation led officers to a nearby residence, where the suspect–a 16-year-old male–was located. The stolen items were recovered from the residence. Anyone with further information on the incident is asked to contact the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.
