A Minden City man has been found guilty of seven felony charges, including first degree home invasion and aggravated stalking.
Charges against David Walter Talisman II, 37, stem from a July 2024 investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department following a reported home invasion in Austin Township, wherein he assaulted the homeowner and confronted an ex-girlfriend who had recently been granted a protective order against him.
Though he fled the initial scene, a second confrontation between Talisman and his ex-girlfriend in Bad Axe eventually led law enforcement to take him into custody for aggravated stalking. Further investigation led to six other charges, including unlawful access of a computer system and interfering with electronic communication, being added.
Due to the overlapping jurisdictions, the Huron County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office prosecuted both the Bad Axe Police Department and Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department cases in Huron County.
Talisman’s jury trial was held this past week before Judge Gerald Prill in the 52nd Circuit Court, with the jury hearing evidence from law enforcement from both Huron and Sanilac counties, as well as victim testimony. The jury deliberated for only thirty minutes on Thursday, June 5, before finding Talisman guilty on all charges.
His bond was revoked shortly after the verdict, with his sentencing scheduled for August 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
