After meeting in closed session at Monday night’s meeting, the Sandusky City Council chose to approve both a real estate purchase for the city and a raise for City Manager Dave Faber.

The council, who met twice in closed session to discuss the topic, voted Monday, June 2, to purchase the property at 69 Lexington Street in Sandusky for $60,000, also agreeing to pay the closing costs. Faber, meanwhile, saw a one-year extension on his contract approved, as well as a 2.5% raise.

The council also learned that there are four applicants to the police chief position thus far, with the plan to narrow the pool to two candidates for interviews. The council will meet again on Monday, June 16.
