MSP seeks information on Flynn Township hit-and-run suspect

Michigan State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect responsible for a hit-and-run in Sanilac County’s Flynn Township.

At around 6:22 p.m. on Friday, May 30, troopers from the Michigan State Police Caro Post and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of West Peck Rd. and Isles Rd. for a report of a collision. Upon arrival, it was determined that a horse and buggy operated by a 35-year old Brown City man was traveling eastbound on W. Peck Rd. when the buggy was rear-ended by a white passenger car.

Police are looking for a Ford Fusion with front-end damage between model years 2010 and 2014, as indicated by part numbers left at the scene. The car reportedly fled the scene eastbound on W. Peck Rd.

Both the operator of the buggy and the horse sustained serious injuries, with the operator being transported to a local hospital for treatment.
